Tarot Deck Illustration & Print Design

student project

A tarot deck exploring the emotional journey of a single character through symbolic visual storytelling.

Each card represents a moment in her life, expressed through minimal geometric illustration and textured print aesthetics.

Print sheet with eight copies of the card back in two rows Print sheet with the four card fronts, the Lovers, the Hermit, the Moon and the Star, twice each

Print

The print file sets eight cards on an 11 by 17 inch sheet: eight backs on the first page, and the four fronts, two of each, on the second.

Two pages of pencil sketches for the cards on grid paper First digital set in flat colour: the card back and four fronts numbered VI, I, VII and IV
Test print sheet of the card designs with one trimmed card laid on top Four printed cards with rounded corners fanned out: the Star, the Hermit, the Lovers and the Moon

Process

Made for Assignment 2 of Illustration I at Cambrian College, titled Saul Bass Card. The cards began as pencil sketches on grid paper. A first digital set in flat colour, numbered VI, I, VII and IV, came before the final cards with their printed texture and names.

Test prints: a full proof sheet with a trimmed card on top, and four cards cut out with rounded corners.
